EXCLUSIVE: Nellie Reed, who most recently ran the scripted TV division of Liz Garbus and Dan Cogan’s Story Syndicate since its 2023 launch, is launching a production company of her own, Short Stack Productions, which has signed an exclusive TV overall deal with indie studio A24.
Under the pact, Short Stack will develop ongoing and limited series for A24 which Reed will executive produce. The company’s first hire is coordinator Sophie Speciale.
Prior to starting a scripted TV division for Story Syndicate, Reed did the same for Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson’s Color Force, and Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin’s Free Association.
Reed is the latest TV executive to launch their own production company with a deal at A24, following Disney’s Peter Rice and Fifth Season’s Joe Hipps.
