With nearly one-third of all Netflix viewing being registered for non-English titles, the streaming giant has just unlocked more language options for subscribers looking for both subtitles and dubbing.
Starting today, viewers will be able to pick from the full list of available languages for any title when watching on a TV set. That array of options matches what is already available on mobile devices and web browsers. (For a sense of how it works, watch the demonstration video above.)
A key ingredient in Netflix’s growth to 303 million global subscribers has been its ability to cross-pollinate territories and languages with titles like Squid Game, Berlin, Lupin, Who Killed Sara?, Troll, and All Quiet on the Western Front. In all, the company’s catalog spans more than 30 languages. Netflix launched internationally in 2016.
