Netflix Data Dump: Spanish-Language Titles Soar As ‘Berlin’, ‘The Asunta Case’ & ‘Society Of The Snow’ Cut Through

Netflix‘s all-out assault on the Spanish-language content market is paying off.

The latest Netflix ‘What We Watched’ data dump — or ‘engagement report’ in the streamer’s lexicon — shows seven Spanish-language TV shows, including Money Heist spin-off Berlin, were in the 100 most-watched for the January to June period this year. A further three films made the top 100 in that chart, including Society of the Snow (aka La Sociedad de la Niece) at number three with 103.8 million views.

Netflix has made Spanish-language content, and specifically originals produced out of its huge studios just outside of Spain‘s capital Madrid, a major priority in the battle for international streaming subscribers. The strategy appears to be paying off when comparing this latest data set with previous incarnations.
