Jewelry isn’t always front and center on high-profile red carpets, but that wasn’t the case Sunday evening at the Dolby Theatre, where stars attending the 2026 Oscars put an emphasis on sparkle, sometimes in unusual ways.
Since it premiered in mid-February, the popularity of FX’s Love Story has spawned a wealth of style editorials rooted in a return to ’90s minimalism, so it was easy to wonder if that trend might likewise find its way onto the Oscars red carpet. And it was indeed present in a few cases, from Renate Reinsve in sleek and unadorned red Louis Vuitton to Emma Stone’s empire-cut white beaded gown, also by the French house, accessorized only with delicate diamond earrings by Repossi.
