Oscars Snubs and Surprises: ‘Marty Supreme’ Shut Out Amid Unexpected Documentary Feature Win and Short Film Tie

As he did last year, Timothée Chalamet received one of the first shoutouts of the night from Oscars host Conan O’Brien, but, in another repeat, both Chalamet and his film nominated for multiple awards (this year Marty Supreme with nine nods, last year A Complete Unknown with eight nods) left empty-handed.

Marty Supreme, which has grossed more than $179 million at the global box office and boasts a 93 percent freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes, was completely shut out, not winning one of the nine awards for which it was nominated at the 2026 Oscars. That stat gives the Josh Safdie-directed film one of the worst Oscar nights in history, behind winless 11-time nominees The Turning Point and The Color Purple and 10-time nominees Gangs of New York, True Grit, American Hustle, The Irishman and Killers of the Flower Moon.
