‘Robin Hood’ Opening Quote Denouncing “Tyranny and Injustice” Mysteriously Disappears On Amazon Prime Video: Is Censorship To Blame?

Social media and streaming sleuths have done it again.

A quote showcased in the first scene of 2010’s Robin Hood typically reads as follows: “In times of tyranny and injustice when law oppresses the people, the outlaw takes his place in history.” However, the version currently streaming on Prime Video features a blank canvas, as noted by TikTok user @theshannonduke0 in a post shared on Monday (May 5).

“Anyone else notice this?”reads the caption on the TikTok, which has garnered over 487,000 likes.

Directed by Ridley Scott, the 2010 iteration of the outlaw story stars Russell Crowe in the title role of Robin Longstride, alongside Cate Blanchett, Oscar Isaac, Matthew Macfadyen, and Mark Strong.
