Savannah Guthrie has officially returned to The Today Show for the very first time since her mother’s disappearance.
The Monday, April 6 broadcast marked the first time Guthrie has anchored The Today Show desk with Craig Melvin since Jan. 30, just days before her 84-year-old mother Nancy Guthrie was reported missing from her home in Arizona.
Savannah kicked off the 7 a.m. broadcast with a bright smile as she addressed viewers for the very first time in over two months. “We are so glad you started your week with us. It is good to be home,” she said.
Melvin responded, “Yes, and it is good to have you back home.”
“Well, here we go,” Guthrie said as they prepared to launch into that day’s news. “Ready or not, let’s do the news.”
