EXCLUSIVE: Hours after winning the Oscar posthumously for his work on Best Picture winner One Battle At A Time, Adam Somner’s name will live forever. The producer and first Assistant Director, who worked with Hollywood’s leading filmmakers and was always a guy who went out of his way to help young talent break into the film business, will be honored with The Adam Somner DGA Memorial Scholarship.
The effort right now will be to solicit donations that will be received, managed and invested by the DGA. The hope is to reach a fundraising minimum of $500,000 to forever sustain what will begin as an annual scholarship worth $20,000 to a single applicant beginning the first quarter of 2027.
