Netflix subscribers will have to wait awhile longer for some of their favorite shows to return to the screen. During its next on Netflix event in Los Angeles Thursday, the streamer teased a massive slate of new and returning series coming in 2025, and while hit shows like Wednesday, Squid Game, and Stranger things are all set to return with new seasons next year, other popular Netflix originals have been delayed to 2026.
Among the most notable absences in the 2025 lineup is the fifth and final season of Outer Banks. The hit teen drama dropped its most recent batch of episodes in November 2024 and was renewed for its final season that same month, with production on Season 5 not set to begin until spring 2025.
