We think most fans of Hacks had an inkling that the fifth season of the show would be the last one, even before news of it being the final season leaked and then was confirmed by HBO Max. It just felt that this was where the story was going, especially after Deborah Vance quits the late night show to protect her protege Ava Daniels. The last season was always going to be a redemption arc, one where Deborah and Ava solidify what they mean to each other, and there didn’t seem to be any other place for the story to go after that. But is there even enough story for a final season?
