This is multi-hyphenate Warren Beatty at the peak of his prowess, pulling quadruple duty as producer, co-writer, co-director, and star (and getting Oscar nominations for EACH). As Joe Pendleton, a Rams quarterback who dies too early, Beatty gets to explore what gives our existence meaning when he’s given a second chance in life … in the body of a recently murdered industrialist. While his first instinct is to train for another shot at gridiron glory, some complicating factors intervene to make him reconsider his priorities.
