Paramount+ has dropped first look images for the eighth and final season of The Chi, and for a love letter by creator Lena Waithe to her hometown, death sure stalks Chicago.
That was made clear to Jacob Latimore as Emmett when his mother, Jada Washington, played by Yolanda Ross, died in the season 7 finale after a battle with cancer. Then there was the shocking murder of Alicia Daniels Lafayette, played by Lynn Whitfield.
Now it’s all to play for in the final season. In a first look image unveiled by Paramount+ on Tuesday, with Birgundi Baker as Kiesha by his side, Emmett and the rest of The Chi cast head toward their own farewell exits. “As The Chi enters its eighth and final season and its coldest winter ever, life or death choices must be made. The question becomes, who is willing to make them? Legacy, conflict, joy, and pain,”
