This week’s all-new episode of The Forsytes on Masterpiece on PBS almost ends in absolute heartbreak for Soames Forsyte (Joshua Orpin). After wooing the love of his life, Irene Heron (Millie Gibson), it seems that the free-spirited beauty might actually be jilting Soames at the altar.

Soames paces back and forth in front of his entire family, while Irene contemplates being a runaway bride.
“So embarrassing [for Soames],” The Forsytes star Millie Gibson told DECIDER when she and Joshua Orpin visited our studio.
“It was looking dire there for a minute, wasn’t it? You kind of see him run the gamut of emotional distress,” Orpin said. Luckily, though, Irene does eventually arrive and the two are married.
