EXCLUSIVE: Prime Video has opted not to renew The Pradeeps Of Pittsburgh for a second season. The news comes more than three months after the eight-episode first season of the immigrant comedy, starring Naveen Andrews, Sindhu Vee, and Megan Hilty, was released on Amazon Freevee.
It is not entirely surprising because The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh, which drew comparisons to ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat, did not make much noise among viewers despite largely favorably reviews (75% on Rotten Tomatoes)
There were outside factors in play, too. The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh was one of several shows lost in the shuffle as the the free, ad-supported Freevee, which had a comedy identity thanks to shows like Jury Duty, was shut down a couple of weeks after The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh‘s launch.
