The ladies of The View offered their thoughts on Senator Markwayne Mullin, who is President Donald Trump‘s top pick to replace former Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem.
After a clip of a tense interaction between Mullin and Senator Rand Paul that took place during Mullin’s confirmation hearing played on Thursday’s episode, Whoopi Goldberg said “it looks like Mullin will be confirmed.”
Joy Behar added, “Thanks to [Senator John] Fetterman, who was the deciding vote. A Democrat.”
Goldberg lamented that “when people sit and they’re asked these questions” ahead of being selected, they may respond differently, but ultimately “get in and they’re the same exact people that they were before.”
“So the question is are you comfortable with this guy taking over Homeland Security?” she asked.
