Tired of Price Hikes? How to Cancel Your Netflix Subscription

If you’re a Netflix subscriber, expect your monthly subscription plan to increase in price very soon.

On Tuesday, Netflix said it’s raising the prices for nearly every one of its streaming subscription tiers in the US and Canada. The following Netflix subscription plans that are increasing in price:

Standard (with ads): from $7 to $8 per monthStandard (no ads): from $15 to $18 per monthPremium: from $23 to $25 per month

These new prices are expected to go into effect during your next billing cycle. 

And this is all despite Netflix having a record year in 2024, including adding 19 million new subscribers in the fourth quarter (the most ever in a quarter) and having what it called “the most-streamed sporting event ever” with the Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson fight. You’d think that with Netflix doing so well, it wouldn’t need to resort to price hikes, but here we are.
