‘Top Gun 3’ Officially In The Works As Paramount Confirms Script Being Written At CinemaCon

A sequel to the hit Paramount Pictures tentpole Top Gun: Maverick is in development as the studio confirmed a script is being written during its CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas. Tom Cruise is expected to reprise his role of Pete Mitchell and producer Jerry Bruckheimer is also returning.

Deadline reported that a sequel was in development in 2024 with Ehren Kruger returning to write the script.

Top Gun: Maverick is the highest grossing movie of Cruise’s career at $1.49 billion. It won one Oscar last year for Best Sound and was nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Picture.
