‘Twisters’ Becomes Peacock’s Biggest Pay 1 Film Premiere Ever

EXCLUSIVE: Universal/Warner Bros’ Twisters has debuted as streamer Peacock‘s biggest Pay 1 film ever in its 14 days on the platform.

The previous biggest Peacock Pay 1 film debut in its first 14 days was Universal’s 7x Christopher Nolan directed Oscar winner, Oppenheimer.

The Lee Isaac Chung directed, Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones starring sequel to the Michael Crichton written 1996 blockbuster Twister dropped on Nov. 15, after a 120-theatrical day window to the service. Twisters opened on July 19 to a massive $81.1M at the domestic box office, 98% higher than the original movie’s $41M. At its opening, the sequel became the biggest box office debut for a natural diaster movie. Twisters finaled at $267.7M and $370.9M. Oppenheimer dropped on Peacock on Feb. 16 earlier this year, a seven-month window from its theatrical release.
