The Chromecast is dead and gone. Perhaps that’s excessive, but the little TV dongle has been discontinued and replaced by the new Google TV Streamer. That device is bigger and has the specs to justify its size, so no one will complain about that. The problem is that it is twice the price of the little Chromecast that everyone loves, and that’s the issue.
If you want something that serves as a spiritual successor to the Chromecast, then the Walmart Onn 4K Plus should be the device of choice. Sure, it doesn’t quite hang from the back of your TV, but it is compact, comes with similar power, and will set you back by even less than a Chromecast will, so there are very few downsides.
