Less than two months before he’s due to perform on the Super Bowl stage, hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar hit fans with a new album. The surprise drop is titled GNX and arrived on streaming on Friday with a one-minute teaser trailer announcing its landing. Boom. This release follows the rapper’s Grammy-nominated smash single, Not Like Us, which dropped this past May.
No videos are out yet, but the main visual for the album features Lamar posing with a Buick GNX, a limited edition vehicle that came out in 1987, the same year the rapper was born. Kicking off the album is Wacced Out Murals, a track where he addresses the beef with Drake, the negative (and positive) reactions to news of him headlining 2025’s Super Bowl LIX and Lil Wayne. GNX marks Lamar’s first album since 2022’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers and his first project since leaving Top Dawg Entertainment.
