It was recently announced that the new season of Dallas Jenkins’ immensely popular historical drama The Chosen will debut in November on Prime Video, followed by a special stand-alone theatrical release scheduled for the spring of 2027. Related, the first two seasons of Jon Erwin’s House of David are currently available on Prime Video. But if you’re looking to watch The Passion of the Christ over Easter weekend, the Mel Gibson-directed 2004 film isn’t streaming in any of the usual places (Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Peacock, or Paramount+).
Depicting the final twelve hours of Jesus’ life, The Passion of the Christ memorably stars Jim Caviezel and features Maia Morgenstern (Mary), Monica Bellucci (Mary Magdalene), and Christo Jivkov (John) in supporting roles. The film was a smash hit with audiences, earning over $600 million at the box office.
