
Everyone knows who, or at least what, the Mummy is. They may picture it differently – guy in bandages, giant face in the sky, Boris Karloff, maybe even Sofia Boutella and/or Tom Cruise – but the concept is pretty well-known. (That’s not why the Mummy and his colleagues Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Wolf Man, and the Invisible Man are called the Universal Monsters, but at this point it might as well be.) But the new Mummy movie nonetheless contains a great mystery in its title: Who the hell is Lee Cronin? And why does he get his own Mummy?
