YouTube Premium Is the Latest Streaming Service to Hike Prices

Add YouTube to the list of subscription media services raising prices. The video service’s Premium subscription tiers are all getting a price hike ranging from a $1 increase for the most basic plan to a $4 increase for the Premium Family plan, which now costs $27 a month.

On its home page for Premium, YouTube adjusted to the new pricing on April 10, which has already applied to new subscribers. Some subscribers will start seeing an increase on their next billing cycles; they can expect at least 30 days’ notice confirming new prices before the change happens.

“We’re updating the price for YouTube Premium plans in the US for the first time since 2023 to continue delivering a high-quality experience that supports creators and artists on YouTube,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
