Horror comedies are one of the toughest tones to nail; too funny, and they lose the edge. Too scary, and the comedy feels out of place. But when they work, they really work. And that’s why I’m really curious to see how “Widow’s Bay” on Apple TV turns out. Matthew Rhys leads the show about a cursed New England island where the locals are fully convinced something’s wrong with the place, and the mayor is trying to drag it into the modern world whether anyone likes it or not.
