Is Lee Cronin’s ‘The Mummy’ 2026 Movie Streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?

The Mummy is back, and this time it’s a lot less fun and lot more scary. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, which opens in theaters nationwide this weekend, is yet another re-imagining of The Mummy franchise, which dates all the way back to Boris Karloff in 1932, but is probably best remembered by the 1999 Brendan Fraser adventure film. The new The Mummy movie forgoes the adventure part, and is instead pure horror.

Written and directed by Lee Cronin (known for 2023’s Evil Dead Rise), this version of The Mummy stars Jack Reynor as a journalist whose daughter Katie (Natalie Grace) went missing eight years ago. When Katie unexpectedly turns up and is returned to her family, her parents are overjoyed. But the joy doesn’t last, as they quickly realize this is not the daughter they remember. Katie spent too long in a 3,000-year-old sarcophagus and came back very, very wrong.
