Now that one beloved part of Anne Hathaway‘s filmography — The Devil Wears Prada — has gotten the sequel treatment, the Oscar-winning actress says she is intent on a repeat, as her team is “constantly working on” bringing The Princess Diaries 3 to the silver screen.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Mother Mary star said she is “100%” looking to return to Genovia.
“We’re constantly working on it. [The Devil Wears Prada 2] cropped up unexpectedly and took over the space,” she said, adding that it “became impossible to focus on both at the same time.”
Now, “the intention is to make Princess Diaries hopefully next,” Hathaway confirmed, stressing that the threequel is not yet official as it has not been “greenlit or confirmed yet.” Aware that “everybody wants [a next installment],” she and her collaborators are currently “chipping away at the script.”
