Cannes Directors’ Fortnight Adds Bruno Dumont’s ‘Red Rocks’ & Masterclass

Bruno Dumont’s Red Rocks, billed as a Romeo and Juliet-style love story set on the French Riviera, has joined the 2026 lineup of Cannes’ Directors Fortnight.  

The picture will play as a special screening with Dumont also giving a masterclass afterwards, during the 58th edition of the parallel section, running from May 13 to 23.

Dumont made his first appearance at Cannes in Directors’ Fortnight in 1997 with The Life of Jesus. The film was awarded a special mention within the framework of the Caméra d’Or prize, covering all first films debuting across the Official Selection and parallel sections.

In 2014, the section played his four-part television miniseries Li’l Quinquin and he returned with his musical film Jeannette, the Childhood of Joan of Arc in 2017.
