CBS News London Bureau Chief Claire Day To Depart; Network Plans Foreign Editor Role

Claire Day, a 23-year veteran of CBS News who has served as London bureau chief since May, is leaving the network.

The move comes as the network is planning a new leadership structure for its international coverage, with the introduction of a foreign editor role, CBS News president and executive editor Tom Cibrowski wrote in a memo to employees.

Shayndi Rice, deputy bureau chief for the Middle East and North Africa for The Wall Street Journal, is expected to be named to the new role, according to a source familiar with the matter. Breaker Media reported last week on the hire.
