
Disney has unveiled a new extended look at its live-action Moana, remaking their breakout 2016 animated hit, which hits theaters July 10, with stars Dwayne Johnson and Catherine Laga’aia in attendance.
In footage unveiled today during the studio’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas, we get to see Laga’aia — taking over the role of Moana from Auli’i Cravalho – singing “How Far I’ll Go,” as Johnson, reprising his role as Demigod Maui, sings “You’re Welcome.”
We also see neon manta rays, a giant crab, a chicken, a scary fire spirit, and more.
In his appearance on stage in Las Vegas, Johnson said “Maui is very real” to Polynesian people and that it’s been “an amazing experience” living with the character for 10+ years.
