EXCLUSIVE: FX is in early development on a comedy pilot from Jeff Chan (Plus One), Rob Mac (Welcome to Wrexham) and 20th Television.
The project, titled Hopeless, follows two people who fall into a chaotic romance when one of them uses the other’s phone number as the fake she gives out at bars.
In addition to Mac, Jackie Cohn executive produces through the former’s More Better Productions banner. Nick Frenkel executive produces on behalf of 3 Arts.
FX is the home of Mac and his business partner Ryan Reynolds’ popular series Welcome to Wrexham, which was renewed for a fifth season just days after its fourth season premiered. A second soccer docuseries titled Necaxa, following the titular soccer team, ran its first season last year. No word if that series will return for a second season.
