Netflix’s Shark Thriller Sequel ‘Under Paris 2’ Begins Filming

Under Paris 2, the sequel to Netflix’s 2024 hit Seine-set shark thriller, has begun shooting in the South of France with Alexandre Aja in the director’s seat.  

Expectations are high for the production with the original remaining the second most-popular non-English-language film ever on the Netflix platform with more than 102 million views, according to the streamer’s own data.

Bérenice Bejo and Nassim Lyes reprise their respective roles of marine scientist Sophia and river police commander Adil who previously joined forces when killer sharks arrived in the Seine in the lead-up to the Paris Olympics triathlon swimming heats in the famed river.

Set three years later, the new film sees their characters reunite on another high-risk mission to track down Lilith, the original predator, in the shark-infested Seine when the center of the French capital
